25 years after his first concert in Budapest, Spanish pop star Julio Iglesias visited our capitol yesterday in his current tour.
We heard that he is not any easy person, might be difficult to get his autograph. By the early 21st century Iglesias had sold hundreds of millions of albums in more than a dozen languages. He has sold over 300 million records worldwide in 14 languages and released 77 albums.According to Sony Music Entertainment, he is one of the top 15 best-selling music artists in history. (Source: Wikipedia) Yesterday - we have had luck. After the concert we started to wait at his hotel. We knew that in the same time the Spanish football team plays semi final against Portugal in the UEFA EURO 2012 event. Iglesias is very connected to football, because as a young guy he was goalkeeper in the Real Madrid. We knew too, that after his show he surely will watch the match in his room at the stadium, he will not come back to the hotel. Evereyone was happy as we have seen the victory of Spain, so we believed that Mr. Iglesias will be kind and will be in good mood. And it was so. Around midnight his cars arrived to the hotel, he recognized our Real Madrid shirts and flags and showed to the driver to stop. Opened the window and with his unique smile signed every material for everyone, posed for photographs. "Wow, Real Madrid, it's my team!" - as he told while signing. Finally he waved to us from the car during going down to the garage It was a very impressive night with a uniqe experience from this great star - thank you, Spanish Football Team :))
Andras Kolozs (b. 1978) Hungaran economist, autograph collector since 1994. He started collecting with Formula One and actor's autographs, later he brightened his collection for all categories. He is also founder of the Hungarian Autograph Collector's Club in 2008 which website is http://autogram.blog.hu.
Jenson was difficult to collect. His Motohome war located inside the paddock and everytime he had a break of testing he disappeared inside. The only chance to collect his autograph was to wait in front of his truck. Then it was possible to get 1 autograph.
Lewis Hamilton has become the most arrogant person inside the F1 paddock. He did not sign photographs at all, especially large ones. He ignored them at any time. He only did sign a few programmes, papers and other fan stuff. There was no chance to get an photograph signed at all.
FC Barcelona is one of the biggest football clubs in the whole world. The club sells souvenirs for thousands of Euro year after year and hits next sales records. It seems to me that original, received in-person autograph could be better and more valuable item than next scarf or t-shirt. This is why so much fans decide to go to FC Barcelona training ground Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper in Sant Joan Despi. I was there several times and I did not regret at all even if I did not collect lots of signed photos.
